This piece from the Manhattan collection has a soft, low pile, and is made of a high-quality blend of Acrylic, Cotton and Polyester.

The Manhattan range is an incredibly detailed floor-piece that will leave all your friends gossiping about that handsome carpet in your house. Made from polyester, acrylic and cotton blend, this rug is soft, stain resistant and extremely durable.

Acrylic (art wool) is a man-made fibre which gives the appearance and feel of wool. It is a great alternative to wool, but at a lower price. It’s springy like wool and has a luxurious touch. Unlike natural fibres acrylic is stain resistant and its colour fastness makes it less likely to fade in sunlight. It is also easier to clean than wool. However acrylic is not as durable as wool or as resilient, and has a tendency to become fuzzy as fibres deteriorate. There are many grades of Acrylic, the lower grades are sometimes prone to matting and piling but with regular maintenance this is reduced.

Cotton is a natural fibre that’s very durable and easy to maintain. They are relatively inexpensive and have a natural comfortable feel. However cotton pile can sometimes become felted and tends to attracts dirt easily. Cotton rugs are a popular selection for kitchens because smaller sizes can be easily washed.

Polyester is a synthetic fibre that has a very high-lustre appearance, which translates into rugs of vibrant colours. It is soft to the hand (or foot) and inexpensive. Polyester also comes in some of the richest colours of any fibre. Because it is process-dyed, it has excellent fade resistance.
