Wool is an exceptional choice for rugs and carpets; sustainable, strong, hard-wearing, crush-resistant and abrasion-resistant. It is also naturally flame resistant – it smoulders and extinguishes itself instead of burning. Wool is highly resilient to dirt particles and is water-resistant. It is an exceptional insulator and has one of the highest insulation to weight ratios of any natural or man-made fibre. Wool responds very well to cleaning. This traditional fibre is a great choice for all kinds of floor covers for long term use and will stand the test of time.
Cotton is a natural fibre that’s very durable and easy to maintain. They are relatively inexpensive and have a natural comfortable feel. However cotton pile can sometimes become felted and tends to attracts dirt easily. Cotton rugs are a popular selection for kitchens because smaller sizes can be easily washed.
Polyester rugs are soft to the touch, anti-allergenic, and easily cleaned unless it is an oil-based stain. Used extensively for Shaggy rugs, the fibre dyes well, and can be spun into thick chunky yarns to produce heavy pile weights. The fibre is often blended with other fibres, including polypropylene and wool. Available in a wide array of styles and designs, Polyester, polypropylene rugs represent superb value for money with great colour rendition and a luxurious feel.
