Walnut is considered by many to be the finest wood in the world, prized for its colour, grain, strength, and lustrous patina that develops over time. Its depth and richness make it an excellent foundation for any project.
A part of our Specialist Woods collections, Ted Todd has sourced the best American Walnut they could find. One of the results is Rivington, a hard wax oiled 20mm walnut plank available in two widths - 190mm wide and 220mm extra-wide boards that are up to 1.83m long. Both are 20mm thick and are carefully sanded to achieve a smooth, sleek, uniform look. Each board has been engineered using nature-grade walnut, which has a broad range of natural characteristics, such as knots, sap, and colour variation.
Hardwax oil is a durable, natural finish that combines oils that deeply penetrate the wood’s pores with a hard wax that is polished to a deep patina. Rockingham is not suitable for use as wall cladding but can be used with underfloor heating.
Ingleton is a prime grade version of Rivington, while Blackmuir is a nature grade unfinished alternative. For prime grade, unfinished walnut planks take a look at Rockingham.
