Here at Kings we not only sell quality upholstered furniture, but we also aim to give expert advice for each and every product we sell. This way, we can extend the life of anything you buy here at Kings by giving you the correct care information nomatter which piece you purchase. Below, we've summarised our tips on various upholstery fabrics and what to do to treat stains/marks etc.

Upholstery fabrics can be very particular depending on which choice you go for; and if you’re buying pre-made, it’s always important to know what you’re getting yourself into!

When chosen, upholstery fabrics should have to meet very specific requirements; they need a high abrasion resistance (10,000-15,000 rubbing cycles, depending on soft or firm), high tear strength, a good seat climate, light and colour fastness and good care properties. They mostly appear as blends so as to attain a good mixture of qualities, with polyester/cotton being one of the more common ones. As a general rule of thumb, natural fibres will feel better on the skin, but artificial fibres will be a little more robust.
