Walnut is considered by many to be the finest wood in the world, prized for its colour, grain, strength, and lustrous patina that develops over time. Its depth and richness make it an excellent foundation for any project.
A part of our Specialist Woods collections, Ted Todd has sourced the best American Walnut they could find. One of the results is Rockingham, an unfinished 20mm walnut plank available in two widths - 190mm wide and 220mm extra-wide boards that are up to 1.83m long. Both are 20mm thick and are carefully sanded to achieve a smooth, sleek, uniform look. Each board has been engineered using prime-grade walnut, which is selected for its clean, uniform appearance with minimal knots, sap, and colour variation.
Choosing unfinished wood means that you can decide which finish is most suitable for your project, with the finish applied in-situ after fitting. The floor care system required will depend on the finish you choose.
Rockingham is not suitable for use as wall cladding but can be used with underfloor heating.
Ingleton is a hard wax oiled version of Rockingham, while Rivington is a nature-grade hard-wax oiled alternative. For nature-grade unfinished walnut, planks take a look at Blackmuir.
